Do I need a smartphone to use Chatmadi?
Yes, but a basic Android phone is enough. Chatmadi is a mobile-first web app, no install needed. Works on any browser.
Can I mark attendance without internet?
Chatmadi needs internet for the initial load, but once a page is open, you can mark attendance and it saves when you come back online. Full offline mode is on the roadmap.
What if I make a mistake marking attendance?
You can edit attendance until the end of the school day for your class. After that, only the principal can authorise a change, for audit integrity.
How does homework broadcast work if a parent doesn't use WhatsApp?
Chatmadi falls back to SMS (via Twilio) or email if the parent has no WhatsApp. You do not need to do anything different.
I'm a subject teacher teaching 5 classes. Do I see all of them?
Yes. You see all 5 classes for your subject, but only your subject in each class. You won't see other subjects unless you're also assigned to teach them.
Can I use Chatmadi in my regional language?
Multi-language support (Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali) is on the roadmap. The interface is currently in English. Parent-facing messages can be sent in any language you type.
